Drunk driving still a problem in Florida

If you are like a lot of people in Florida, you look forward to the summer months for all of the celebrations and freedom to be enjoyed at that time of year. However, you are also likely aware that summer holidays and festivities offer yet more opportunities for people to consume alcohol and still make the choice to drive. Drunk drivers continue to plague Florida's roads and highways despite the strict laws and public awareness campaigns.

Overnight crash in Florida results in 1 death

Automobile accidents in Florida can occur even under the most favorable conditions. Add in a potentially hazardous factor, like decreased visibility in the dark of night, and the risk of a car wreck can go up. A crash involving three cars occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 95, sending two vehicle occupants to the hospital in serious condition and claiming the life of a 40-year-old female driver.

Why a slip and fall is no laughing matter

At Moody Salzman Lash & Locigno, Attorneys & Counselors at Law, in Florida, we represent many clients who suffered serious injuries as the result of a slip and fall accident. Unfortunately, a slip and fall can lead to catastrophic consequences, despite the humor you may find in old TV shows and movies when the unlucky star takes a huge pratfall, much to the amused consternation of bystanders. Remember, these pratfalls represent the end of a highly choreographed stunt.

How to avoid boating accidents

Summer is approaching, and many Florida residents like to spend more and more time outside to take advantage of the longer days and beautiful weather. Recreational water sports such as boating, jet skiing, canoeing and kayaking are a favorite pastime, but unfortunately when preventative measures are not taken, personal injury and even death can occur. We here at Moody Salzman want you to know there are many things while boating to ensure your safety and the safety of your passengers.

Florida hit-and-run sends car flying

On Thursday morning, an SUV pulled quickly out of a left turning lane on US-1 in Miami Florida and struck a passing car with enough force to send it briefly into the air. The force of the collision sent the SUV into a red pickup truck. It was only a matter of moments before the driver of the SUV drove off and left the scene of the accident. Fortunately for the victims of the crash, a witness to the accident had recently installed a dash cam that recorded the entire incident, the footage of which is now in the hands of authorities.

Can slip and fall incidents occur indoors?

In many other areas of the country, one of the primary reasons for a slip and fall incident is because the roads were icy and not properly warned for. But what about in Florida, where icy roads aren't such a problem? Slip and fall incidents can occur indoors, as well.

The unique nature of tourism industry injuries

Florida is one of the states with the highest population of workers involved in the tourism industry. These workers face many hazards during the course of their jobs. Some are involved with adventure travel, while others have unique working experiences on cruise boats.
